Case study - Singapore retail mall football activation

Kick Off Challenge at The Star Vista

Supplier-side support for a compact football play zone at a live B1 atrium.

Kick Off Challenge brought a football-themed play environment into The Star Vista B1 Atrium in Singapore. ACT Creative supported the broader project team as one of the suppliers, focusing on field carpet, perimeter fencing, truss protection, football bowling props, pre-event consultation and selected on-site setup tasks.

Project snapshot

The scope was practical: make the play area usable, protected and site-ready

A mall atrium activation has limited working windows, public circulation nearby and a high expectation for tidy visual finishing. The support work was therefore not only about sourcing items, but making sure the selected materials and props could be deployed cleanly inside the atrium.

01

Carpet procurement and installation

We sourced and supported installation of the green field carpet so the activation area could read as a football zone while protecting the event footprint.

02

Football fencing and truss covers

We coordinated cross-border procurement and deployment of the football perimeter fencing, plus custom protection covers for exposed truss elements.

03

Props, consultation and setup support

We supported cross-border procurement of football bowling props, helped review practical setup details before the event and assisted with selected on-site setup work.

Supplier scope

Each item had to support the final experience, not only arrive on site

Live mall constraintsThe setup sat inside an active B1 atrium, so installation details and finishing mattered.
Cross-border sourcingFencing and props needed procurement coordination before they could be deployed locally.
Surface planningThe carpet had to define the activity zone clearly and hold up under public use.
Impact protectionTruss protection covers helped soften exposed structure around the play route.
Game clarityFootball bowling elements needed to be recognizable and arranged for quick visitor understanding.
Setup supportOn-site assistance helped align delivered items with the final activation layout.
Behind the support

From field surface to game props, the work was a supplier coordination package

Carpet and footprint

Turn an atrium floor into a clear football play surface

The carpet procurement and installation supported the visual identity of the activation while giving the broader setup team a defined working footprint for the fence, props and visitor flow.

Fencing deployment

Coordinate cross-border football fencing for the activity perimeter

The fencing needed to look appropriate for a football challenge while also fitting the mall atrium layout. Procurement, delivery and deployment were handled as one support path.

Protect hard structure inside a close-contact play area

Custom truss protection covers helped finish and soften the game structure, especially around areas where visitors would be close to the football bowling route.

Source game objects that are instantly readable to visitors

The football bowling props were part of the visitor-facing play logic. Cross-border sourcing had to support the final game layout, visual clarity and setup timing.

Transferable support model

A small mall activation still benefits from coordinated sourcing and setup logic

Kick Off Challenge is a good example of a compact supplier scope where every item touches the final public experience. Carpet, fencing, truss protection and football bowling props needed to work together visually and operationally inside one atrium footprint.

Supplier-ready requirementsTranslate activity needs into practical sourcing, sizing, material and delivery details.
Cross-border procurementCoordinate items such as fencing and props before local deployment.
Site-fit thinkingPlan how delivered items sit inside mall constraints, not only how they look in isolation.
Protective finishingUse covers and finishing details around hard structures in visitor-facing play areas.
Setup supportHelp align supplier items with the final event layout during selected on-site tasks.
Clear supplier roleSupport the broader event team without overstating ownership of the whole activation.

Project credits belong to the respective event owner, venue, agency and creative partners. ACT Creative's role in this case was supplier-side support for the components described above.
